The famous American flag signed by Tom Brady has a storied and resilient past.
The New England Patriots flew this flag over the old Foxboro Stadium in 2001 to commemorate the closing of Foxboro and ushering in the new Gillette Stadium.
This was flown on the 3rd quarter of the last home game of the regular season vs the Miami Dolphins. This was part of the incredible 2001 season when Tom Brady replaced Drew Bledsoe after an injury. The rest is history.
The patriots went on to win their first of many Super Bowls. Tom Brady would go on to be the greatest American football player in history.
This famous flag also has historical significance as it was flown just months after the tragedy of sept 11th. In January of 2002, just a month before their first Super Bowl win, the patriots auctioned this off for charity as a 1 of 1.
Not long after Tom Brady signed this famous American flag. This is the only one known to exist if it’s kind. The flag had been stored in its original box and never fully unfolded for an amazing 21 years.
Their had been talks to use this flag as the back drop at the nfl hall of fame to commemorate the Patriots, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. In the interim it had been contracted to be displayed at the Patriots very own hall of fame. During this period it was displayed and succumbed to fading. After a lengthy process and a subsequent lawsuit, the patriots hall contacted the owner and advised that Tom Brady would sign the flag for the second time.
After a big win in Germany, Tom Brady was commissioned and signed this flag. The amount of items signed twice by the goat is unknown and may be unique to this piece.
The owner of this flag originally agreed to sell this flag to help with the costs associated with his child with autism. Finally this flag has come to market for a once in a lifetime sale. A portion of the proceeds of this one of a kind item will go toward Spectrum Connections.
